SUMMARY:Healthy Acadia - Spagetti Supper and Dessert Auction
DESCRIPTION:Healthy Acadia invites area residents and visitors to attend a spaghetti supper and dessert auction on Saturday\, May 4\, 2019\, from 5-7pm at Rose M. Gaffney School in Machias\, with event proceeds to benefit Healthy Acadia’s DownEast Teen Leadership Camp. \nDownEast Teen Leadership Camp (DETLC) is a 5-day residential summer program held at the University of Maine at Machias that challenges and empowers teens to refrain from substance use\, make healthy choices and positively impact their lives and those in their communities. DETLC offers a safe and fun environment for teens to be themselves\, form long lasting friendships\, and build their leadership skills. \nThe evening event will include a spaghetti dinner\, dessert auction\, and a brief presentation about the program and commentary from DETLC campers. Choice of traditional or gluten-free pasta with a meat or vegetarian sauce\, green salad\, and a fruit medley dessert. \nMinimum suggested donation is $4 per student\, $6 per adult\, or $20 per family. \nPLEASE consider donating a homemade pie\, cake or other baked good for the dessert auction. We are looking for all sorts of desserts\, from your grandmother’s secret apple pie recipe to your favorite cake or cookies.  Please note\, desserts must not contain alcohol or cannabis. \nDessert donations will be accepted the day of the event. If you would like to donate a dessert\, please call Chasity Tuell at 255-3741. \nYour generous support will help keep tuition affordable and provides scholarships to ensure that all interested teens may attend DETLC. \nDownEast Teen Leadership 2019 is scheduled for July 22-26.
