SUMMARY:National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
DESCRIPTION:The Machias Police Department in collaboration with Healthy Acadia will host a collection event at Hannaford in Machias.   Community members are encouraged to drop off any unused\, unwanted or expired prescription drugs through this free\, anonymous service. \nIf unable to attend the take-back event on Saturday\, prescription drug drop boxes are available at the following locations in Washington County:  Calais Police Dept\, Eastport Police Dept\, Machias Family Pharmacy\, Milbridge Pharmacy\, Passamaquoddy Tribe of Indian Township Police Dept\, Passamaquoddy Tribe of Pleasant Point Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. \nPrescription drop boxes offer free\, anonymous and safe disposal of prescription medication that my be expired or no longer needed.  Drop boxes are generally accessible during regular business hours of the host site.  Contact your nearest drop box location for hours of operation.  Drop boxes CANNOT take needles\, epinephrine pens\, or liquid medications. \nFor more information about safe prescription drug disposal or Healthy Acadia’s substance prevention efforts in Washington County\, visit www.healthyacadia.org. \n  \n
